In astrology, fire + air signs and earth + water signs are complementary to one another. Maybe this is why whenever we’re in an earth or water season, it feels like such a slog. As a double air sign, I need to flyyyyyyyyy, not be stuck in the mud. Sure, mud (earth + water) can be cleansing, but I am cleansed! It’s time to have fun!

I’m excited for the breath of fresh air that Gemini season will bring tomorrow, Tuesday, May 20. Here’s what I love about Gemini:

• you never know what you’re gonna get—a fun little ride for those who can hang!

• they are the kings and queens of chameleon-ing—when I think of my handful of Gemini friends, they are each very serious and business-y on the one hand and then absolute little freaks on the other. I love it!

• they are so open—there’s really not much you can tell a Gemini that will shock them

• along with Libra (fellow air sign), they are the best for gossiping with. As I said last year about Gemini:

It’s with this spirit of openness and fun that I share this season’s Gemini horoscopes with you. Adding to the excitement of Gemini season are some big planetary movements, including Saturn moving into Aries (May 24) and Jupiter moving into Cancer (June 9).

Aries: Aries are Gemini are second cousins, as both are ruled on some level by the planet Mercury, planet of communication. Aries loves a bold idea and Gemini loves helping collect all the information to make that big idea come to fruition. With Saturn entering Aries, go ahead and take the leap, knowing that your preparation (Mercury) will support you (Saturn).

Taurus: Guess what, Taurus and Gemini are ALSO second cousins, as both are ruled on some level by Venus. Venus will enter Taurus during this Gemini season (on June 5), so the theme for you this season is centered around your values and communicating those values. At the end of yoga class, my teacher (a Taurus!) closes by saying, “May your actions align with your purpose,” which is very Gemini + Taurus.

Gemini: Happy birthday! The Gemini new moon on Monday, May 26 is a great time to plant some summer intentions. Gemini represents the branches of a tree, extending out, connecting us to our roots, and, of course, a great place for swings and climbing high to see what’s beyond. Plant seeds on the new moon that help you get to that next step. Gemini is a very mind-based sign, so I’m sure you have plenty of ideas that you can manifest!

Cancer: Jupiter moves into Cancer on June 9 and with Jupiter being such an expansive planet and Cancer being more internal (the crab literally going back into its shell), there is an opportunity to play around with these two energies to find a good balance. Cancer’s natural leadership and Jupiter’s adventure will bring good luck to your endeavors…during Gemini season and beyond. Let Jupiter in Cancer remind you that you have built the foundation—now you just have to trust that next big step.

Leo: The full moon in Sagittarius on June 11 will provide a good opportunity for you to show up from the heart. As fire signs, both Leo and Sag understand the need for self expression and how important that is to speak/be/live your truth. This will be a good full moon for you to shed whatever is keeping you back from shining your light. We’re building toward Leo season (not for a few months still, but summer/the sun just tends to bring Leo vibes, doesn’t it?), so get excited about all the freedom, light, and energy that you have to share.

Virgo: Virgo and Gemini are first cousins (yes, I am going to keep with the cousin theme today), as both Virgo and Gemini are ruled by Mercury. The common thread among these two is the attention to detail. This is a great time for you to get all your ducks in a row and prepare for next steps, as Gemini will find all the information and Virgo will put the system/process/routine/itinerary* together. (*I am manifesting someone going on vacation here…I hope that is you!)

Libra: Venus, Libra’s planetary ruler, moves into Taurus on June 5. Libra and Gemini both love connecting and learning about others, and this season, particularly this transit of Venus into Taurus, encourages you to focus on what you truly love and value and give it your fullest attention. Don’t let the loudest voice pull your attention from what matters most.

Scorpio: Shapeshifter, change maker Scorpio is often on the hunt within for self-improvement, enlightenment, and healing. The keyword here is “within”—this Gemini season, particularly on Saturday, May 24 when the sun is trine Pluto, try to get up and out of the depths. It is said that once the light shines on Scorpio, it is more comfortable bringing everything forward. Use Gemini season to harness your curiosity outwardly instead of inwardly.

Sagittarius: Jupiter, your ruling planet, enters Cancer on June 9. I feel like I’m forever having to defend Cancer because of the negative connotations it gets…mothering, pregnancy, home, family…these are things that I have noticed seem to *trigger* our 21st century sensibilities. When Jupiter is in Cancer, these themes are heightened, but maybe not in the way you think: The mothering you give to yourself AND others. The projects and plans that you thoughtfully bring into this world. The family—assigned or chosen—that you care for and that cares for you.

Capricorn: You ruling planet, Saturn, moves into Aries on May 24, which brings a big inhale before you hit the ground running. If you’ve felt like your ‘get up and go’ has been stifled a bit (and Saturn has been in Pisces for several years now, so these feelings could have been anytime during that period, not just within the last few weeks), get ready! You have built the plan and now it’s time to run with it!

Aquarius: Your ruling planet, Uranus, will be moving into fellow air sign Gemini at the beginning of July, so use these last few weeks in Taurus to get really clear on your values—in the great revolution of which you’ll surely be part, make sure you have a firm foundation set. Aquarius rules friendship, so in Gemini season, it’s time to get out there and forgo your natural tendency to detach. Now is the time to ATTACH. Attach to like-minded people, pick their brains, get new ideas, and generate these ideas in new and different ways.

Pisces: Jupiter (one of Pisces’s exoteric rulers) and Pluto (Pisces’s esoteric ruler) will be square on June 18. This transit has the potential to bring to a head any internal strife you may have been currently going through, particularly as it relates to finding energetic balance between your inner and outer worlds. Pisces, you know your job is to heal…both yourself and others…but the key is knowing what to share about your journey, who to share it with, how much you need to be involved in others’ journeys, and listening to your inner voice.
